Right, hopefully once we have had feedback from scapers etc and we have a place to meet..... what would you like to see or do? Any ideas are welcome, from simply meeting in a pub and having a good laugh just meeting each other to trips around the meeting places/farscape shops anything. Please feel free to give us some ideas of what scapers want.... I want CB to be there for my own reasons..... but i think thats a long shot Matt ;D

Um it depends where we go and how many of us there end up being, i think a farscape marathon is a must. (if people dont mind us all invading their house(s) ) preferably it should be a con format so while some people may be around for longer at least one day should have a load of farscape themed events, maybe crashing a internet cafe and all playing the KotP RPG *cough* farscaperpg.proboards24.com/ *cough* or dressing up and scaring the locals, if we can book somewhere for the day (a villiage hall or something) then we can have some differnt things going. If other people want to meet up then this site could help them organise it, but it wouldnt really be a con would it

I think it depends very much on how many Scapers there will be at the meet. If there are coming loads of Scapers then we should look into renting a place large enough.Since this most likely (at least the first times) would be a very un-official event, perhaps a large resturante or pub. But if the meet will include Farscape merchandise and other things then the place would have to be larger...
If only a handfull of people woud come, then at someones home perhaps. Watching a couple of eps and then going out for a beer or soda...

Yep ok i agree it counts on how many arrive...
I like the idea of watching eps then going for a soda *yeah right i mean beer and vodka more like*
My concern is, say it was in the uk. Most flights travel close to London... fine... lots of scapers live in Kent...... fine... i have no probs with scapers crashing at my house watching eps and having a great time.... but i live about 200 miles or more away from Kent...... and not much less from London... so depending on where its held is a bigger thing i think. Only because the nearest scapers may have to organise the venue as such....
Just a thought.
Matt ;D

Vell, I think for any initial meet-up we have ought to be official-like. What I mean is, jump on the back of any other Con going on. I know I keep going on about it, buuuuut, if there are (or even if there aren't?) Farscape guests, what about Collectormania? Why do I say this? It's free, fairly accessible and Corin Nemec's going... hyuk, hyuk... *drool* But, uh, to et back on the main topic (Corin Nemec... *drool*), to have a meet-up that is public (compared to going around each other's houses) and giving us a chance to get to know each other offline, in the real world (scary, eh?), and then, if that works, start doing all the other types of meet-ups. Plus, if we meet-up in a large enough group, dressed up in Scape-y clothes, around people who are also Sci-fi fans, we might be able to attract people to our cause. Thus increasing viewership, etc. And, I'll say this again, it's free so people only have to pay for transport there, and for any autographs they want. Btw, I thought I would add that I know it's a EuroScaper forum, but, seeing as I live in UK, and don't have bountious amounts of money, then the UK is as far as I could realistically go for a meet-up.

You can say that again, Matt! Back in 2002 I intended to come over to the UK to attend that Wolf event with Claudia and Wayne. All the prices seemed pretty much OK (air fare for a low-budget flight to Stansted, train to London and the actual price for the event) but when I looked at the price for the hotel (I would have had to stay for two nights) it actually knocked the wind out of me! So in the end I couldn't go because I could not spend all my money for this one trip. I still have to eat, you know. Yours, Dietmar

Corin Nemec's there and he asks if I'm going... Well, last year, in October, me and my friend did exactly what it suggested and used the park and ride service. We got there about 11, it was really simple. I will admit, there aren't any FS guests going yet, so fingers crossed there will be... I'll C&P what's on their website: Hotels within walking distance: HOLIDAY INN: Tel: 08704 009057 Price: Mon-Thurs £72-£179 per room weekend rates from £25 Only 5 minutes walk to the shopping centre TRAVELODGE: Tel: 01908 241079 Price: £59. 95. Room Only 10/15 minutes walk to the shopping centre, close to the train station. TRAVEL INN: Tel: 01908 663388 Price: Mon-Thurs £54.95 per room weekend rates £52.95 2 minute walk to the shopping centre, opposite Snowdome. Oh, and the dates are: Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May 2004. Lots of hugs 'n' bugs, Jeni (and the mysterious rubber chicken called Scorpius)
